He is an American songwriter, visual artist, singer, record producer, actor, music video director, and former music journalist. Manson as controversial stage persona and image earned considerable fame all around the globe.

As the lead singer, he represented the band of the same name, which he co-founded along with guitarist Daisy Berkowitz in 1989. His stage name was shaped by mingling and juxtaposing the names of two opposing American cultural icons such as actress Marilyn Monroe and criminal Charles Manson.

He became famous after releasing his music in the 1990s, while his recognition went valuable after the albums Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals that achieved him a status in mainstream media as a controversial figure and negative influence on young people when merged with his public image.
