US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has taken into custody the Grammy-nominated rapper 21 Savage in Atlanta early Sunday, reported by ICE spokesperson Bryan Cox. The law enforcement agency of the federal government of the United States claimed that he is illegally present in America.
According to Cox, the black rapper was born as Shayaabin Abraham-Joseph, is a citizen of the United Kingdom, ICE revealed in the report. The Washington, D.C. based agency declares that the “Bank Account” hitmaker entered the US legally in July 2005 at little age, but later on failed to depart under the terms of his nonimmigrant visa.
The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement also claimed Abraham-Joseph has been living in the United States unlawfully since his visa expired in July 2006. ICE
ICE explained in a report, “Mr. Abraham-Joseph is presently in ICE custody in Georgia and has been placed into removal proceedings before the federal immigration courts.”
The agency added, “ICE will now await the outcome of his case before a federal immigration judge to determine future actions.”
However, the 21 Savage’s an attorney, Dina LaPolt has made public that his representatives were working to make safe his release.
LaPolt said like this talking CNN, “We are working diligently to get Mr. Abraham-Joseph out of detention while we work with the authorities to clear up any misunderstandings,”
Los Angeles, California based an entertainment lawyer and artist rights advocate continued, “Mr. Abraham-Joseph is a role model to the young people in this country, especially in Atlanta, Georgia, and is actively working in the community leading programs to help underprivileged youths in financial literacy.”
It is also reported to be by ICE that one of the most popular black rappers was also found guilty with felony drug charges in October 2014 in Fulton County, Georgia. Whereas Cox has declared that Abraham-Joseph was taken into custody in a targeted sting.
The rapper has been featured on the song “Rockstar” by Post Malone, for which he has been received nominations for Best Rap Performance and Record of the Year at the Grammys.
It is just an allegation by The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, but fans of the rapper are appeared to be so shocked after hearing about his sudden or unexpected arrest, though most intimately connected with Atlanta and its music scene.
It has also been revealed that the “21” reported having links to a street gang in Decatur, as well as frequently referred to his past in East Atlanta’s Zone 6 is considered also which his track “Bank Account,” emerged as clear example in which his reference as “straight up out the 6.”
