Dutch Tram Shooting Killed Three, Wounded Nine

A shooting on a tram in the Dutch city of Utrech caused three deaths and wounded nine others people, the mayor declared on Monday, continuing that the authorities have discovered a suspect in the case, and released a photograph of him.

The mayor of Utrecht, Jan van Zanen also said that three of the injured people are in serious condition, though armed counter-terrorism police have commenced a huge manhunt to search the attacker.

The security officials have also been asked the residents of the city to don’t come out because the attacker may take place a further attack.

To whom police have considered a suspect of the incident, is said to be the Turkish-born 37-year-old Gokmen Tanis, and residents also have been warned not to come near him.

After the terrorist attack incident in one of the biggest cities of Netherlands, authorities have ordered to shut the Mosques across the city for the day and enhanced security at airports and other main constructions.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte stated the terrorist attack occurred just days ahead of local elections, brought deep concerns whereas security officials have boosted safety measures at mosques and airports.

Mr. Rutte added saying that the shooting in the city of Utrecht left three people dead, is being considered a possible terror attack, continued that the Netherlands would never surrender to intolerance.

The Dutch PM addressed a brief press conference in The Hague with the country’s justice minister, in which said the incident caused “several wounded and possible deaths.”

After the shooting, a dead body was seen on the tracks in the city in the central Netherlands where a number of emergency services including police officials were present and helicopters hovered overhead.

The head of the Dutch national counter-terrorism service, Mr. Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg confirmed three deaths after shooting at several locations but denied to reveal further details regarding the possible terrorist attack.

Afterward, security officials encircled a building a few hundred meters away, but they haven’t confirmed regarding the gunman presence in the construction.
