There were rumors out there that Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki is going to say good-bye to basketball career; finally, he has announced officially that he is retiring from the NBA.

As it appeared to be the possible conclusion, while he was asked much time about his future plans but the 40-year-old Germany professional basketball haven’t let the others know about it.

After the Mavericks’ victory against the Phoenix Suns in which he scored a season-high 30 points and his team arranged a heartfelt ceremony for the big German Tuesday night. Where the future Hall of Famer didn’t announce the word retirement but also declared addressing fans that “this is my last home game.”

However, in this ceremony some other NBA legends Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, and others also participated. During the event, Barkley joked that Nowitzki should have gone to his alma mater, Auburn University.

Mavericks’ senior person Mark Cuban also addressed the audience after the game promising to Nowitzki, will be giving a job for life, as well as a “kick-ass” statue and a jersey retirement ceremony.

The celebration for Nowitzki took almost the whole day and season, although his fans across the league honored him by saluting and standing ovations at what time he went to their city. A stream of adoring workers also greeted his hero before the game.

On another side, Nowitzki holds the sixth-highest-scoring NBA player by total career regular season points scored (31,510). It needs to learn whether Nowitzki will be performing in the season finale of Mavericks on Wednesday night in San Antonio or not.
