On Thursday, rep. Katie Hill’s attorneys threatened to take legal action against a British newspaper for posting what it alleges are naked photos of the freshman California Democrat.
The legal team includes Marc Elias and Rachel Jacobs of the firm Perkins Coie, of the 32-year-old American politician, who has judged it direct insult the way the Daily Mail posted nude pictures of Hill with a Nazi-inspired tattoo on her body.
Hill’s attorneys have submitted a cease-and-desist letter to executive editor of the Daily Mail, Candace Trunzo, in which both Elias and Jacobs insisted that “you remove these photos from publication at once.”
An English tabloid has indicated that had been in an affair before with a former campaign staffer before Hill won her seat in Congress, while the newspaper still carries a series of California Democrat’s intimate photos.
On the other side, she has owned up to an “inappropriate” relationship with a female campaign staffer who DailyMail identified the 24-year-old Morgan Desjardins from Santa Clarita, California, even she has apologized to her constituents over the issue.
Hill is going through a bitter divorce, has declined the claims indicate her sexual relationship with her male legislative director, Graham Kelly.
A report came from conservative RedState .org declared that claims and a series of Hill’s nude pictures originally surfaced on October 18.
Mr. Kenny Heslep, who is the husband of the representative for the 25th congressional district, California, reportedly revealed Hill’s relationship with Kelly but still, there is no strong proof of an inappropriate association between Hill and Kelly by his side.
Nevertheless, the House Ethics Committee has started an investigation of the issue, while she has been urged the US Capitol Police to inspect whether any criminal laws were violated by the release of the pictures.
On Thursday, the Daily Mail followed the initial report of “RedState” carrying the release of a collection of intimate photos of Hill also include one of her pictures demonstrating having a bong while naked.
Nevertheless, the English tabloid is still quiet over the requests for comment in relation to Hill’s threat of legal action.
